Our Story
Diverse Builders was first founded in 1985 by the Rose family. The family owned business proudly made their mark in rural Victoria by crafting some of the first energy-efficient homes in the region at the time.
With an environmentally friendly office and showroom in the town center of Numurkah Vic, Diverse went on to win several awards for their projects over the years. In 2022, Diverse Builders welcomed ambitious Wangaratta locals Shane Gaston and Matt Kelly to the board of directors.
A venture which saw them bringing together their combined 18 years of experience in the construction industry to a slightly different residential market than the pair’s existing established business, Crown Building & Construction. Matt and Shane bring a fresh perspective to Diverse and are excited to service the Goulburn Valley region and beyond, carrying on it’s legacy and to continue building homes people love to live in.

Since 2017, Diverse Builders have been a founding supporter and annual sponsor of Shepparton Foodshare – one of our most treasured achievements as well as working alongside Beyond Housing, developing multiple crisis accommodation across rural Victoria for those who need it most.
As a local residential and commercial builder, we work closely with our clients to achieve their vision no matter how big or small. Frequenty Asked Questions
Do you build in VIC and NSW?
Diverse Builders currently only build in Victoria and have a Victorian domestic and commercial license. Our service area ranges approx 100km from Shepparton, VIC. From Echuca to Cobram, Wangaratta, Benalla, Euroa, Nagambie and many of the smaller towns in between.
Can I bring my own designs/sketches to be drafted and quoted?
At Diverse Builders we do have a design & construct service. This allows you to bring your ideas to life and have our in house draftsman draw your own custom plans. This same process also allows Diverse to work with your own independent architect for your custom home
How will I be informed during the building process?
Communication is very important. Every build has a dedicated construction supervisor that is available to answer any of your questions as well as a weekly construction update via email informing of what trades are on site and progress made.
How long is the maintenance period?
From the day of handover, your maintenance period is a total of three months. From then you may record any issues or concerns that will be addressed once your maintenance list is returned to head office.
Can we make changes during the building process?
Yes if the changes requested are not altering anything structurally that is already completed. These changes are made through a process called a Variation to your contract which is invoiced once the works are completed or at your next scheduled progress claim.
Are you up to date with the new changes in building codes and practices in Victoria?
Absolutely, our staff are across all changes and are trained accordingly. Our pre-designed home plans are regularly updated and priced to meet all current compliance and building regulations.
Are you experienced with knockdown rebuilds?
Diverse Builders have managed and completed many Knock down rebuilds. If this is something you are considering we can assess your current property and include demolition and all other costs within your quote so the process is stress-free and seamless as possible for your new home build.
