As consulting engineers in the Goulburn Valley, we have worked with Neil Rose and his team at Diverse Builders for about 20 years. We have noticed that Diverse put a lot of planning into ensuring that their homes are of the highest structural standard.

They are committed to doing these things properly and continually seek the latest and best way to build. They are great problem solvers. If you’ve got a building idea that’s “out there”, they’re creative thinkers, so it’s worth talking to them.

Diverse Builders under took the construction of a 12 bed high care residential care wing at Cooinda Benalla. The Cooinda staff found working with the Diverse staff and contractors was respectful, open, transparent and fair.

By having fortnightly meetings we were able to discuss and sort through any issues that arose promptly to ensure the project kept moving and was completed on time.

I worked closely with Diverse Builders while they constructed our multi-purpose hall. The hall is a striking, modern building that was designed to complement our heritage buildings and beautiful street frontage.

The staff at Diverse Builders were wonderful to deal with. They always kept us up to speed with what was going on, with regular, productive site meetings. We were grateful that they were able to predict problems in advance and devise solutions to prevent them. It meant the $2M project was completed without a hitch – on time and on budget. It won a Master Builders Association award in 2011 for Excellence in Commercial Construction $1M-$3M.

Work on the hall was so impressive that we later contracted Diverse Builders to build eight classrooms for us. They completed the classrooms under enormous time pressure, with no compromises. I couldn’t fault them.

After a competitive tendering process, Diverse Builders was selected to construct our trade training centre, which has separate facilities for carpentry and hairdressing. The school council was keen to ensure local people were employed during construction, particularly those who had a connection to the school. That proved a neat fit with the philosophy at Diverse Builders, which places a big emphasis on supporting local communities.

Throughout construction, all tradespeople took pride in their work. To a large extent, I think this has influenced the great pride the school community takes in the building. Great learning spaces improve both teaching and learning. Our trade training centre feels modern, has good acoustics, makes supervision easy and has great learning spaces. In 2013 it won the Council of Educational Facilities Planners International award for outstanding school facilities.

Throughout the building process, the Diverse Builders team communicated effectively and proactively. They anticipated and overcame problems, were considerate in scheduling work to minimise classroom disruption and liaised effectively with the Architect. We are really happy with the final product. If we ever have another building project, I would be pleased to have the opportunity to work with Diverse Builders again.

I worked with Diverse Builders throughout the construction of the Mooroopna Police Station. They were very approachable, kept me well informed throughout the building process and acted on my advice to ensure the building functioned well.

They managed the building process very professionally and their work was of a very high standard. We’ve had very pleasing comments about the standard of workmanship from people who have visited us.

I was very happy to hear that Diverse Builders had won a Master Builders Association award for their work on the police station. The award is well deserved.

Diverse Builders has undertaken a number of housing projects for the Office of Housing in the Shepparton area. The value of those works is well over $10 million. In all the works undertaken for the Office of Housing, Diverse works with our consultant architects to produce housing on time, with a minimum of fuss, to a very high level of workmanship. Diverse has a very high level of finish and professionalism.

Some projects are made more difficult by disability modifications made during the construction process and impossibly short timelines. This builder handles those extra constraints with aplomb and professionalism and has never failed to meet our deadlines.

Diverse continues to do work for us and we have no hesitation using them on future projects.

Warramunda Village is a not-for-profit aged care home at Kyabram in the Goulburn Valley. Diverse Builders won the tenders to build 10 residential units for us and extend our hostel with a 12 bed dementia wing. They were significant projects, worth just under $3.5M. We were surprised to have 12 companies submit tenders for the work. This made tendering very competitive, particularly given that many builders had large-scale commercial experience.

Diverse appealed to us because they are a family business and Neil and Fiona were both very approachable and actively involved. We felt fully briefed throughout the building process and everyone in their team communicated effectively. The quality of everything they did was good and if we had any concerns they were prompt in addressing them. This level of service has been consistently high during the builder’s warranty period as well.

If we were looking at further development we’d be delighted to have them tender again and I’d certainly recommend them for other commercial work.

CEO - Warramunda Village

Brandrick Architects designed the Mooroopna Police Station. We were pleased to work with Diverse Builders on this project. Director Neil Rose, who supervised the project, and Mick Fothergill, foreman on site both have an eye for detail and quality. They translated our architectural and engineer’s drawings perfectly.

Close cooperation between us, the client and Diverse Builders ensured that the police station was constructed on time and within budget.

Having a local builder with knowledge of local tradespeople and suppliers was an advantage. So too was having builders who were happy to put in extra time and effort when it was required. It was never a problem for Neil and Mick to spend extra time on site, or at the office, to review the works and to discuss alternatives and options.

Diverse Builders did an outstanding job on every level during the construction of the magnificent, purpose built, cutting edge Senior Learning Facility that was opened on August 1st 2014.

This building was constructed as a result of identified projected growth for Sacred Heart and is consequently, part of and precedes the rest of our Master Plan. The architectural design is both inspiring and intricate with a high level of attention to detail. This, along with the extremely short length of time between initial discussions and finished product created challenges in the project that the Diverse Team managed brilliantly.

Diverse Builders are to be highly commended for their professionalism, outstanding trademanship and amazing coordination of this challenging design. The whole team was absolutely fantastic to deal with. Diverse’s attention to detail in the planning and early construction stage, the skills and dedication of their foreman and trade teams and their commitment to timely, positive communication ensured the whole construction process was enjoyed by all parties.

At Sacred Heart we firmly believe that students learn in different ways. One look at this building identifies our response to that statement and explains the reason for the large and small spaces, the nooks and group meeting spaces, the internal and external amphitheatres and the outdoor deck.

We thank Diverse Builders for constructing a truly beautiful building that will have a significantly positive influence on learning at Sacred Heart for many years to come.

Architect Peter Byrne designed the interiors in plywood to create robust surfaces with the warmth and character of timber grain. The challenging geometry with few right angles was met with precise craftsmanship.

“Working collaboratively with the skilled staff at Diverse Builders and a wonderful Principal has given students an award winning learning space. Now it’s up to them to enjoy it and excel” he said.

We have worked with Bentley Wood and Diverse Builders on a range of projects over the years. The ability to recommend a nearby contractor from Numurkah gave us peace of mind. We were reassured from previous work with Diverse Builders on residential and commercial projects and given nursing homes are technically commercial yet residential in nature we knew they were well suited to the Yarrawonga extension.

The design process with Bentley Woods evolved from initially working in a typical client-architect agreement with very little contact with staff and residents eventually involving a project control group every step of the way. This approach had been successful in many of our other commercial projects and allowed the end users of the building to have a greater influence and involvement in the decision-making process. Ultimately this approach increased the ability of the design to functionally meet as many needs as possible and find a balance between satisfying each party.

During construction Diverse Builders were a pleasure to work with and were more than happy to take time to explain their process to the client. Diverse Builders always had someone on hand for any queries. Similarly, they promptly contacted us as questions arose, allowing all parties to work well together.

Congratulations to the entire team at Diverse Builders. We are so glad your hard work has been awarded.
